Mostafizur Rahman-Tawheed Hridoy will want to forget the start of the Lanka Premier League (LPL). Both failed to play in their first league match, with Dambulla Sixers losing by a wide margin.

Dambulla face Kandy Falcons in Pallekelle on Monday night. Candy started well at home by blowing Mustafiz. Batting first, Dambulla scored 179 runs. Candy reached the target losing only 4 wickets in 17.2 overs.

Hriday contributed only 1 in Dambulla’s 179 runs. He became LBW as Dasun Shanakar. Dambulla lost 4 wickets for just 25 runs in his outing. Then Mark Chapman 91 and Wickramasinghe 62 scored a challenging score for Dambulla.

Kandy lost his wicket early in the chase. Nuan Thusara sent back Andre Fletcher with the second ball. Mostafiz’s attack to not be able to handle that shock. He returned Mohammad Haris. After that, Candy did not have to look back. But Mustafiz seems to be confused.

Kandy’s batsmen attack could not fulfill the bowling quota either. He spent 44 runs in 3 overs. Six digested 4, four 3! Dinesh Chandimal scored maximum 65 runs for Kandy. In the end, Angela Mathews scored 37 off 20 balls and Dashun Shanaka scored 46 off 15 balls to win the match and left the field. Kamindu Mendis scored 27 runs off 20 balls.
