This cultural event, whose opening ceremony was enhanced by the presence of ambassadors, diplomats and eminent personalities from the world of culture and art, reflects the unity of Arab culture while highlighting the richness and diversity of Moroccan cultural heritage.

On this occasion, the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, indicated that these cultural days constitute a bridge between the secular cultures of two countries which embody the unity and diversity of Arab culture.

In a speech read on his behalf by the Secretary General of the Department of Culture, Samira Lemlizi, Mr. Bensaid noted that this meeting also sheds light on the richness of Moroccan cultural identity, noting that on this occasion, a set of relics and precious objects will be presented during an exhibition dedicated to manuscripts, sites and elements of Moroccan heritage appearing on the UNESCO human heritage list.

This event will also be marked by an exhibition on Moroccan calligraphy, the screening of a documentary that highlights the efforts made by Morocco in terms of global and sustainable development, under the aegis of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, as well as a poetic evening and Moroccan music shows, he added.

For his part, the Moroccan ambassador to Kuwait, Ali Benaissa, noted that this cultural and artistic event will be enhanced by a Moroccan-Kuwaiti poetic evening as well as by musical evenings which highlight the authentic and modern artistic heritage of the Kingdom.

Mr. Benaissa noted, in a statement on this occasion, that these cultural days will allow to discover a part of the secular heritage of Morocco and to contribute to the consolidation of cultural ties between the two countries, given that culture represents a vector of knowledge, rapprochement and cooperation between peoples, expressing his hope that this cultural event can give a new impetus to the cultural partnership between the two brotherly countries.

The Director General of the National Library of Kuwait, Seham Al-Azmi, said that these days “come to consolidate the fraternal ties between the two peoples and highlight the depth of bilateral relations, whose history has always demonstrated their strength and durability.”

The Moroccan-Kuwaiti cultural days, she recalled, are part of the implementation of the agreement signed between the two governments on cultural exchange.
