However, UAB “Autokausta” claims to have encountered unforeseen works after starting the bridge construction works and submitted two requests to increase the scope of works. Kaunas officials approved them.
In one of them, it is agreed to increase the volume of works by more than 2.4 million. the amount of euros, in the second – another 152 thousand is provided for additional works. euros.
It is said that after receiving the expert’s opinion, engineering geological studies were additionally carried out, which confirmed that the soils in the areas of the retaining walls are weak and the developer of the work project corrected the file of the construction part, that is, he designed piles under the retaining walls, accordingly reducing the underground concrete part of the retaining wall and in the technical design changed the intended connection of the supporting walls to anchor temples and provided for the stabilization of the bed with cement soil columns and geonets.

UAB “Autokausta” submitted the lowest price in the public tender for the construction of this bridge. The expected contract implementation period is 57 months. However, it is already clear that the initial cost of the bridge, 115 mln. it will not be possible to place a price of EUR. By this month, according to the requests submitted by the builder, the price is increasing by just over 2.5 million. euros.
