Jaipur. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has once again put the previous Congress government in the dock regarding the East Rajasthan Canal Project. He said that the Congress only did politics on ERCP. Not only ERCP but also did politics instead of taking any action on the plan to bring Yamuna water. As soon as the BJP came to power, it made an agreement with the Madhya Pradesh government regarding ERCP and the central government also approved it as a national project. Many areas have been included under ERCP. On Monday, July 1, a felicitation program was organized in Bhakri village of the area on Monday, July 1, when Virat Nagar area was also connected to ERCP. Speaking at this program, CM Bhajan Lal said that former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has brought this plan and we are taking it forward.
When ERCP water arrives, fields will yield gold
Taking a jibe at Congress, CM Bhajanlal Sharma said that gold cannot be made from potatoes but if the farmer gets sufficient water for farming, he can certainly grow gold from the soil. He said that the previous BJP government worked on ERCP. This plan was taken forward by giving it a concrete shape but Congress did only politics on this issue in the last five years. Not a single letter was written to the concerned ministry regarding ERCP. Even after being called for a meeting by the Center, neither the then Chief Minister nor the Minister of Water Supply Department attended the meeting. Even for the water of Yamuna, the previous government never sent a letter to the Central Government or the other party.
3 Dams of Virat Nagar Connected with ERCP: Three dams of Kotputli Virat Nagar area namely Chitoli, Jawanpura Dhabai, and Buchara have been connected with the ERCP scheme. On this occasion, a thanksgiving program was organized by the local people in Bhakri village. In his address, CM Bhajanlal Sharma also gave the message of water conservation.
