Palmeiras came close to reaching an agreement with Gabigol, after offering a salary in excess of R$2 million per month and a five-year contract. But the departure of the Flamengo striker in this transfer window is still a long way off. The blog concluded that it was Alviverde’s intention to sign him without giving Flamengo financial compensation.
“Gabigol has about R$18 million to receive from Flamengo until December, including salaries, image and prizes. Palmeiras’ proposal is for Flamengo to get rid of this cost and release the player for free”, explains a source from Palmeiras. In order not to lose Gabigol, Palmeiras promised to pay 30% of this diluted value over the five years of the contract.
The problem is Flamengo. President Rodolfo Landim has no intention of releasing Gabigol. The striker’s contract with Rubro-Negro ends on December 31 and he was able to sign a preliminary contract from last Monday. If there is no agreement with Fla, however, Gabigol would only be an Alviverde reinforcement in 2025.
Gabigol received a salary proposal of R$2 million per month at Santos in the last few days, as well as inquiries from Cruzeiro, Corinthians, Grêmio, Bahia…
Leila Pereira and Abel Ferreira are excited about the opportunity to sign Gabigol, the biggest idol of Flamengo fans since 2019.
