One of the actors who participated in the famous Pirates of the Caribbean saga died on Sunday afternoon after a fatal shark attack on the beaches of Hawaii.
This is the artist Tamayo Perry, 49, who had a minor but distinctive role in the film “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” in which he plays a buccaneer.
The actor was taken to shore by jet ski and pronounced dead at the scene, a Honolulu Department of Emergency Services spokeswoman told reporters.
Perry was no stranger to the sea, as beyond his participation in the famous film, he was a surfing star and also had an academy for teaching this sport.
He was also a lifeguard, and in Hawaii he was known as a “legendary boatman,” perhaps because of his connection to the well-known pirate film and his personal and professional life linked to the sea.
The World Surf League posted the news on social media X (formerly Twitter) and recalled his career as a professional surfer and as a member of the League for many years.
Meanwhile, others close to him described him as a world-class surfer, a lifeguard loved by all, and a person who loved everyone.
In addition to her role in Pirates of the Caribbean, Tamayo Perry had roles in the series “Hawaii 5-0” and “Lost,” among other major productions.
