Europe is in decline and is experiencing a crisis of Christian civilization, from which only right-wing parties adhering to traditional values can lead it out. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is convinced of this in an article published in the Magyar Nemzet newspaper, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.

“Europe is experiencing a crisis. The Christian civilization that defines the framework of our lives is disappearing,” the head of government wrote.

In his opinion, “the European Union is also in decline.” “Over the past three decades, the continent’s global economic weight has declined significantly and steadily. The European order is disappearing before our eyes – there is a constant threat of terror, weakening public security,” Orban noted.

He believes that “Europe’s ability to defend its interests in international politics has also declined – closure and blockade, war next door.” “All this has put European countries in a difficult position, and, in addition, the conditions of people’s daily lives have become difficult,” the prime minister added.

Blaming the EU leadership’s misguided policies for this, he said that “Brussels bureaucrats are undoubtedly successful in only one thing – weakening national states and strengthening their own power.” “This elite reminds us of the communists. They do not care about the interests of the people, but impose their ideals on them. Their current hit is a poisonous green policy and the ideal of a mixed society,” Orban complained.

The fight in the European Parliament

The Prime Minister recalled that in the recent elections to the European Parliament (EP), “in 20 of the 27 EU countries, sovereignty supporters or right-wing parties that campaigned on promises of change won.” However, the largest faction in the EP, the centrist European People’s Party, made a deal with the left and liberals to form a coalition in support of certain candidates for key EU posts. As a result, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will remain in office for another term and will pursue the same policies as before.

“The only goal of this pro-war pact is to keep the Brussels elite, which is plunging Europe into crisis, in power for at least another five years,” Orban claimed. He assured that despite these steps taken against the will of voters, right-wing parties will continue to pursue their political goals to lead Europe out of the crisis. “Right-wing parties must form strong factions in the European Parliament and then establish cooperation between these groups,” the head of government said.
