The latest version of the iOS 18 operating system has a new feature that warns the user about the slow charging process of the iPhone. This is reported by the MacRumors publication, Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta.ru.
The charge scale in the settings section called “Battery” will now display a new color of bars – orange. It will indicate the period during which the phone was charging from the old slow power supply. The new indicator will indicate all sessions connected to a power source that produces 5 watts of power or less.
These changes could be useful for users who are not familiar with chargers, so that they can better understand why their iPhone is taking longer to charge than usual. It is also possible that these changes are intended to encourage users to purchase genuine accessories from Apple, since without MagSafe certification, no charger can deliver more than 7.5 watts to an iPhone.
The iOS 18 operating system was presented on June 10 at the WWDC 2024 conference. The platform will be released in the fall, with the release of the iPhone 16 series.
