The Central Bank issues its monthly statement on public revenue and expenditure

The Central Bank of Libya issued today, Thursday, its monthly statement of public revenue and expenditure, which covers the period from January 1, 2024 to June 30, 2024.

The bank stressed its continued efforts to achieve the highest rates of disclosure and transparency through many available tools, in order to involve all state institutions and citizens in awareness of the state’s economic and financial reality, according to a post by the bank on its official Facebook page.

The statement indicated that public revenues reached 45 billion dinars during the first half of 2024, compared to spending of 43.7 billion dinars.

The Central Bank’s statement revealed that foreign exchange revenues amounted to $9.1 billion, while the value of its uses amounted to $18 billion, recording an estimated deficit of about $9 billion, while revenues from the fee imposed on foreign exchange sales so far amounted to 9.5 billion dinars.

The bank indicated that the expenditures of the Council of Ministers of the Government of National Unity exceeded one billion dinars from the beginning of the year until the end of June, while the expenditures of the House of Representatives and its affiliated bodies amounted to 496 million dinars, the expenditures of the Supreme Council of State amounted to 21 million dinars, and the expenditures of the Presidential Council and its affiliated bodies exceeded 230 million dinars.
