Al-Tumi discusses aspects of joint cooperation with the British Ambassador

Today, the Minister of Local Government in the Government of National Unity, Badr Eddine Al-Toumi, discussed with the British Ambassador, Martin Longden, aspects of joint cooperation in the field of local administration and support for municipalities.

The ministry stated on its Facebook page that during the meeting, the progress of the unity government in implementing the path of transition to decentralization and empowering municipalities with their powers was reviewed, as well as the file of local development, local revenues, digital transformation, community participation, and other files in which the national unity government has achieved real achievements on the ground and has become a tangible reality.

The Ambassador gave a briefing on his visits to a number of regions in Libya and the meetings he held during those visits. His Excellency the Ambassador also stressed his complete satisfaction with the efforts made by the Government of National Unity in the path of transition towards decentralization. He praised those efforts and considered them the right way to achieve local development, bring services closer to the citizen and improve their quality.

It was also emphasized to strengthen bilateral relations between Libya and the United Kingdom, and the importance of pushing the level of cooperation towards broader horizons that serve common interests, especially in issues of common interest, most notably supporting local administration.
