After receiving information that one construction company located in the city of Kaunas, usually on the first working day of the new month, after the official transfer of wages to the employees’ bank accounts, may pay the employees the unaccounted wages the next day, the police officers also visited it on the salary day.
During 13 searches that took place in Kaunas and Marijampole counties, accounting documents, computers, mobile phones, hard drives, a server, a USB flash drive, memory cards, handwritten notes containing personal data and the amount of money to be paid to each were found and seized.
Also 71,895 euros, of which 4,615 euros are intended to pay unofficial salaries.
Three residents of Kaunas, Jonava, Marijampole districts (born in 1966, born in 1962, born in 1968) were charged with fraudulent accounting. The men were not known to the police.
Kaunas district Officials of the Economic Crimes Investigation Board of the Criminal Police of the VPK conduct a pre-trial investigation into the management of fraudulent accounting in accordance with Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania. 2 d.
This is punishable by a fine or imprisonment for up to seven years.
The investigation is organized and led by the prosecutors of the 2nd criminal prosecution department of the Kaunas District Prosecutor’s Office.
