During an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, Roger Waters, one of the founders of the famous rock band Pink Floyd, expressed his opinion on the accusations against the terrorist group Hamas. According to Waters, reports of Hamas atrocities are “dirty lies” spread by Israel. The musician questioned the claims that the militants of the organization burned babies and raped women during the attacks on October 7.

At the height of the discussion, when Morgan presented evidence in the form of photographs and documents, Waters sharply rejected them, saying that “there was no evidence.” The discussion also touched on the topic of kidnapped Israelis. To which Waters noted that children and elderly people had been released from captivity, but at the same time responded with irony to the mention of a child who is still in terrorist captivity, saying that Morgan “maybe he’s just making it up.”

The musician also drew attention to the attacks carried out on October 7, claiming that Israel attacked its own citizens and destroyed cars with rockets from Apache helicopters, while Hamas did not have helicopters. Waters strongly condemned the killing of civilians, calling it a war crime, but refused to recognize Hamas as a terrorist organization. He concluded by adding that the Palestinian Authority has the right to armed resistance against the “oppressor.”
