Canalys analysts have recorded a recovery in the European smartphone market. This is stated in a report on the organization’s website, Day.Az reports with reference to Lenta.ru.
Experts found that 33.1 million smartphones were shipped in Europe in the first quarter of 2024. The year-on-year growth was 2 percent. This is the first time that sales have grown in the European market in the last 12 quarters (three years).
Also in the first quarter of 2024, the share of premium smartphones exceeded 32 percent for the first time. Canalys considers premium devices to be those priced above $800, or about 71 thousand rubles.
The market leader was the South Korean corporation Smasung, which received a share of 37 percent. According to experts, this is due to the steady demand for the flagship Galaxy S24 series. The top 3 also included the American Apple and the Chinese Xiaomi – their shares were 22 and 16 percent, respectively.
The best-selling smartphone in the first quarter in Europe was the iPhone 15 Pro Max – Apple managed to sell 2.6 million flagships. The top 5 also included the iPhone 15 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy A15, iPhone 15. In the first quarter of 2023, the best-selling devices were the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, Samsung Galaxy A54 5G and Samsung Galaxy A53 5G.
