In a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, petroleum and gas exploration and production companies have announced to invest 5 billion dollars in Pakistan in the next three years.
The delegation from the domestic and foreign petroleum, gas exploration and production sector expressed their confidence in the leadership of the Prime Minister. He is grateful to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for taking part and listening to the problems and finding their solutions.
The participants were told during the briefing that 240 places will be drilled for petroleum and gas exploration in the next 3 years. The Prime Minister invited petroleum, gas exploration and production companies to find offshore reserves.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan spends billions of dollars every year on importing oil and gas. Searching for oil and gas reserves at the local level is the first priority in Pakistan. Fuel and gas will be cheaper.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also established a committee headed by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Darki, the committee will include relevant officials, secretaries and experts.

After consultation with the representatives of the sector, the committee will formulate proposals to formulate an attractive policy for the exploration and development of petroleum and gas reserves in the country.
In the meeting, along with representatives of domestic and foreign companies, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers Ahad Khan Cheema, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Engineer Amir Muqam, Ahsan Iqbal, Sardar Owais Khan Laghari, Governor State Bank Jameel Ahmad, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Jahanzeb Khan, Prime Minister’s Coordinator Rana Ehsan Afzal, Chairman FBR Amjad Zubair Towana and relevant senior officials were also present.
