/ In a brutal assault incident against an elderly man with special needs, a scene on social media sparked widespread anger in Turkey.

Several Turkish media outlets published a video clip showing a high school principal and his young son brutally beating the elderly man, who lives with a pacemaker and suffers from kidney failure and partial paralysis on the right side of his body, while he and his wife try in vain to defend themselves inside a bus in the city of Mersin.

The reason for the dispute was the elderly man’s request that the manager and his son get up from the disabled seat because he had the right to sit there due to evidence that he was among the vulnerable groups. The man got angry because the elderly man told them in an orderly manner, “Get up from this place.” The argument escalated over the right to the seat designated for the disabled, and what happened happened.

The video that was revealed yesterday, Wednesday, dates back to December 15, in the central Toroslar district, and ended with police intervention and the arrest of the father, the director, at the end of the investigations, according to what was reported by the Turkish newspaper “Hurriyet”.

The publication of the video also sparked widespread reactions on social media in Turkey, with widespread demands to hold the attackers accountable, including the dismissal of the manager from his job. The manager is 43 years old, while his son Ahmed is 17 years old, while the elderly husband, the victim, is 77 years old, and his wife is 71 years old.

The bus that witnessed the incident was heading to Mersin State Hospital, while the father and son were arrested for trial.
