The official spokesman for the Iranian election headquarters, Mohsen Eslami, confirmed today, Friday, that popular participation has increased compared to the first round of elections.
“The voting process started smoothly since its inception and will continue until 6:00 p.m., after which it can continue with the approval of the Minister of Interior,” Islami said.
He added that “reports indicate a higher turnout in the elections compared to the same time in the first round of elections,” noting that “according to the law, the representatives of the candidates in the polling stations are not entitled to campaign against any of the candidates or interfere in the voting process and the inspectors and supervisors of the Guardian Council, and in the event of a violation, they will be expelled from the polling station.”
