After the concert, Maffay suddenly pulled out a large golden envelope and revealed a funding check for 100,000 euros! The money will go to Pixel Sozialwerk – a social institution for key social issues in Erfurt. However, the singer donated the check with a helping hand – and it came from his own family!

Peter Maffay’s son, Yaris (20) gave his father a helping hand a few days ago. The two stand side by side on stage to be awarded for a good cause. “Words are good. Actions are better. It is very important for us not only to sing about a better world, but also to make a concrete contribution to make it a little better,” Maffay opened his support nicely.
“Pixel Sozialwerk not only deserves our attention and recognition for the great work they have done, but also our material support. That’s why I’m happy to be the lucky winner of the German Postcode Lottery and hand over the funding check for 100,000 euros,” said Maffay.
Maffay is an ambassador for the German Postcode Lottery. His son Yaris comes from his marriage to his ex Tanja Spengler, who is 26 years his junior. The singer was married to her from 2003 to 2015.
