(Wasim Ahmed) Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has approved the increase in the contract of domestic cricket players, the budget of women’s cricket has been increased for the first time from 7 million rupees to 24 million rupees.
According to the details, the 72nd meeting of the Board of Governors of PCB was held under the chairmanship of Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Mohsin Naqvi, in the meeting held in the board room of National Cricket Academy, fiscal year 25. The budget estimates for 2024 were approved.
From the development budget, 12 billion 80 crore rupees have been allocated for the upgrade project of Gaddafi Stadium, National Bank Stadium Karachi and Rawalpindi Stadium, 4 billion 50 crore rupees have been kept for the promotion of domestic cricket.
PCB will take care of 12 grounds itself for the promotion of domestic cricket, PCB will also provide funds for staff and maintenance of 100 grounds across Pakistan.
In the PCB board of governors meeting, the increase in the contract of domestic cricket players was approved, the budget of women cricket was increased for the first time from 7 million rupees to 24 million rupees, in the central contract of women cricketers in the meeting. In the meeting, a briefing was given about the preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan next year. In the meeting of the Board of Governors, a briefing was also given on the upgrade project of Gaddafi Stadium, National Bank Stadium Karachi and Rawalpindi Stadium.
Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi said that the upgradation work of the stadiums will be completed before the Champions Trophy. The upgradation of the stadiums will improve the facilities for cricket fans. Mohsin Naqvi said that arrangements should be made for the Champions Trophy according to international standards. They are working on new venues for tournaments and matches.
Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi informed about the measures taken to strengthen domestic and women’s cricket, various suggestions were considered for the improvement of domestic cricket. Secretary Board and Chief Operating Officer PCB Salman Naseer and Chief Financial Officer Javed. Murtaza gave a briefing about the important features of the budget and other issues, the members of the Board of Governors, Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Sajjad Ali Khokhar, Zafarullah, Tanveer Ahmed, Tariq Sarwar, Dr. Anwar Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Ismail Qureshi, Meraj Mehmood, Osama Azhar and Director Domestic Cricket Abdullah Khurram Niazi attended the meeting.
