Steve Bannon turned himself into the prison in Danbury, Connecticut for some time. Here Donald Trump’s former strategist will have to serve a four-month prison term for contempt of Congress. The American Supreme Court, in fact, rejected last week the last appeal against the conviction presented by the guru of the American far-right who refused to testify about his role in the attack on the Congress before the commission of inquiry of the Chamber. Bannon himself told the American media that his release is scheduled for October 31, during the week before the presidential elections. Trump’s former White House strategist called him a “political prisoner” “I’m proud to go to prison. Not only do I have no regrets, I’m proud of what I did,” he said.
The future in the presidential race
Before donning his orange prison suit, Bannon recorded an episode of his popular ‘War Room’ podcast next to the pint, which he said will only get “bigger and more powerful” during his incarceration. This is, among other things, the second Trump adviser to be indicted for this crime. After 4 months, in fact, Peter Navarro will be released from prison on July 17. Bannon, as mentioned, will have to wait a few more months. In the meantime, he said, he will read books, write campaign emails and continue to support the tycoon. And he prophesied that Joe Biden will leave the presidential race. “Trump’s victory in the debate is a Pyrrhic victory. He will remove a rival that he knows he can beat well and he will become unknown”, Bannon then argued, explaining that the president will not be able to survive the fall in the polls. But if Biden withdraws, he continued, he will catch the Trump campaign off guard, taking out his weakest opponent. “They will be looking for a messiah and then there will be a honeymoon but, when it comes to the Dem convention in August, whoever it is, Michelle Obama or Gavin Newsom will start with at least a five/seven point disadvantage”, he emphasized his own point of view.
