On Wednesday they published a new podcast episode, in which Flatland could say that she was recently admitted to the hospital in response to a serious infection.

Badly

First, the presenter says that the day starts as usual with a run, followed by dinner guests in the evening. In other words, everything was going to be a normal day.

But when she had to clear the table after the guests, she suddenly fell ill with, among other things, fever and nausea. Together with her husband, she decided to go to the emergency room, which resulted in her being admitted the same day.

– Sunday two weeks ago, I was urgently admitted to Diakonhjemmet hospital to respond to a serious infection. I don’t think I’ve ever been as bad as I was then. I had initial poisoning, Flatland explains in the episode.

Sepsis is a serious infection that can cause the body’s organs to fail. The condition can be life-threatening if not detected and treated in time, according to Health care.

As mentioned, Flatland has diabetes so he has an insulin pump on his arm which gradually injects insulin into the blood. She had severe pain in her arm, so she thinks the infection started there.

Katarina Flatland has not yet responded to Nettavisen’s inquiry.

The husband did not believe

However, in the podcast, Dobloug says he was skeptical about how sick Flatland really was, and that he suspected it was due to social anxiety.

Now, however, she is glad that she took the pain seriously and got treatment in hospital.

– I was taken to the infectious disease ward, I don’t remember being taken there or what the room looked like. I woke up the next morning wondering where I was. Then the tests started to go up and both CRP and white blood cells went up, and they went up more as I lay there.

Now home from the hospital, but he makes no secret of the fact that it is a few long days.

– I was very tired, tired and slept for large parts of the day. The week after I got home I was a complete toad, but I’m starting to recover now. It feels really good.

Finally, Flatland thanks the hospital staff for the help she has received, and praises the health care system for treating her quickly.
