The “Go Siyaha” caravan stops in the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region

Organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, the Maroc PME Agency and the Regional Tourism Council, this meeting was an opportunity to outline in detail the “Go Siyaha” program and its various components.

During this meeting, the speakers welcomed this regional initiative which aims to support the development and growth of tourism businesses and improve their competitiveness to meet the new demands of the sector on a national and international scale, by creating a new generation of businesses.

They also highlighted the efforts made by the various economic and tourism stakeholders in the region to strengthen its appeal as a tourist destination with such rich and diverse potential.

In a speech on the occasion, the regional delegate for tourism, Aicha El Oualia El Alaoui, indicated that the “Go Siyaha” program is considered one of the major programs of the tourism roadmap, noting that it has set promising objectives, with a view to confronting current and future challenges and supporting competitiveness and innovation among tourism companies.

“Go Siyaha” aims to support 1,700 tourism companies by 2026, mobilizing a budget of 720 million dirhams, said Ms. El Alaoui, noting that this program aims to support tourism investment and provide technical support to tourism companies.

For his part, the vice-president of the Regional Tourism Council, Zine El Abidine Iraa Sbai, stressed that Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra has enormous tourist assets and a real cultural heritage.

Seaside, cultural, environmental and adventure tourism are all niches that can form the basis of the region’s tourist appeal, he explained.

In this vein, Mr. Sbai said that the “Go Siyaha” program has a pioneering vision focused on the Moroccan tourism industry, through innovation, sustainability and competitiveness, adding that this program is a real qualitative leap for the promotion of this vital sector.

On this occasion, the managers of the Maroc PME Agency explained to the tourism stakeholders that the “Go Siyaha” program is structured around three support components, namely, “investment support”, “technical expertise to support competitiveness” and “support for green growth”.

Through the “Investment Support” component, the program offers bonuses for tourism animation and associated accommodation projects, with rates of 30% to 35% of the total investment amount.

As for the “Technical expertise to support competitiveness” component, it concerns financial strategy, operational excellence, market development, digital transformation, for which the program covers up to 90% of the costs of the services.

As for the “Support for green growth” component, it targets sustainable development projects in tourism, with an investment bonus of 40% of the overall investment amount and coverage of up to 90% of the cost of advice and technical expertise in sustainable development.

On the sidelines of this event, individual sessions were organized to support companies wishing to join the program.

This meeting was marked by the presence in particular of representatives of the Regional Tourism Council and tourism delegations in Laâyoune, Tarfaya and Es-Smara, as well as regional representatives of federations and professional associations in the tourism sector.

Launched on February 14, 2024 in Rabat, the “Go Siyaha” program, which is part of the deployment of the programs of the Roadmap of the Ministry in charge of Tourism 2023-2026, aims to support tourism companies in order to create an innovative and diversified entertainment offer to propel the Morocco destination towards a new era in terms of tourist experiences.
