This broadcast comes after the celebration in 2022 of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Barid Al-Maghrib Group said in a press release.
Focusing on the theme of “Popular Arts”, this joint program highlights the cultural convergence as well as the richness of the intangible cultural heritage of the two countries.
The two postage stamps thus reproduce two painted artistic works illustrating traditional costumes and pottery of the two nations reflecting the authenticity of their heritage, the press release states.
On the Moroccan side, the postage stamp represents the emblematic traditional outfit of the Moroccan woman, the brocade caftan called “Khrib” whose complex and polychrome patterns in relief are very close to embroidery.
This work also illustrates a ceramic from Fez, an ancient city of art and one of the cradles of Moroccan pottery, continues the same source.
The other work, illustrating the Romanian side, shows the traditional Vâlcea costume worn by the women of this region of Romania, notes the Barid Al-Maghrib Group, noting that it is one of the most refined and varied costumes whose basic piece is the white shirt called the “zăvelca”, an impressive piece both by the decoration and by the generous material used.
This work also illustrates the traditional ceramics of the city of Horezu which is distinguished by the elegance and beauty of the forms.
This issue of postage stamps enriches the series of joint issues carried out with other countries, including the very latest, issued in 2024 with the Sultanate of Oman, in 2022 with the Republic of Serbia, in 2021 respectively with the Dominican Republic and the Republic of Tunisia, and many other joint philatelic achievements including the very first with the USA in 1987, concludes the press release.
