The granting of a fifth extension until December 30, 2025 for the completion of the long-suffering project “Construction of the remaining works of the Crete Dam on the island of Rhodes”, with the joint venture “SMILI ATE – ERGOROI ATE” as the contractor, was proposed to the regional council and will be examined at its next meeting by the Directorate of Technical Works of Dodecanese.
With the decision No. 206/2014 of the 6-6-2014 meeting of the Economic Committee of the South Aegean Region, the auction minutes and the assignment of the project to the consortium, which offered an average implied discount of 21.14% on the prices of study invoice.
The contract for the project, with a total cost of €9,482,823.70, was signed on 4-12-2017, with a contractual total deadline for completing the construction works of the project of 24 months, i.e. until 4-12-2019.
In the 19-07-2029 meeting of its Economic Committee, the granting of the 1st total extension of the deadline for the completion of the construction works until 28-01-2021 was approved.
With the 12-08-2019 Special Notice of Work Interruption – Nuisance, the consortium stated that it is suspending the execution of the project in question, due to the fault of the construction company. With the 26-01-2021 decision of the Economic Committee, the granting of the 2nd total extension of the deadline for the completion of the construction works of the project was unanimously approved until 19-12-2021.
With the decision of the Economic Committee of 21-12-2021, the granting of the 3rd total extension of the deadline for the completion of the construction works of the project was unanimously approved until 30-06-2023.
With the 20-07-2023 meeting of the Economic Committee, the granting of the 4th total extension of the deadline for the completion of the construction works of the project was unanimously approved until 30-06-2024.
The contractor, with its application due from 27-06-2024, requests that it be granted a total extension of the deadline for the completion of the construction works of the project with a review until 30-12-2025.
He argues that the loan chambers as defined by the study are not sufficient for the production of the fine-grained filter, as a result of which new spaces are sought.
