Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has increased the price of gold in the country’s market by a maximum of Tk 1,609. As a result of increasing the price, the price of a good quality i.e. 22 carat gold bar will be 1 lakh 18 thousand 891 taka. The new prices will be effective from Monday. Today, good quality gold was sold for Tk 1 lakh 17 thousand 282 per load.
This information was informed in a press release signed by Masudur Rahman, Chairman of the Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee of Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) on Sunday (July 7). According to Bajus, the price of acidic gold has increased in the local market. The new price of gold has been fixed keeping in view the overall situation.
As per the new prices, the price of best quality or 22 carat gold (11.664 grams) is Tk 1 lakh 18 thousand 891, 21 carat gold is Tk 1 lakh 13 thousand 491, 18 carat is Tk 97 thousand 278 and traditional method Gold will be sold at 80 thousand 423 taka.
The price of gold has been increased but the price of silver has been kept unchanged. According to the category, currently the price of 22 carat silver is 2 thousand 100 taka, 21 carat is 2 thousand 6 taka, 18 carat is 1715 taka and the price of traditional silver is 1 thousand 283 taka.
On Sunday (July 7), the price of best quality or 22 carat (11.664 grams) gold was Tk 1 lakh 17 thousand 282, 21 carat gold was Tk 1 lakh 11 thousand 951, 18 carat was Tk 95 thousand 960 and traditional method Bhari gold was sold for 79 thousand 339 taka.
