/ The Qatari national team eliminated its Iranian counterpart after achieving a 3-2 victory in the semi-finals of the Asian Football Cup, which is currently taking place in the Qatari capital, Doha.

The match took place at Al Thumama Stadium at 6 pm Baghdad time.

The first half ended with Qatar leading by two goals to one. Iran scored its first goal in the third minute through player Sardar Azmoun.

In the 17th minute, Qatar scored the equaliser through Jassim Jaber, and in the 43rd minute, Qatar scored the equaliser through Akram Afif.

In the second half, the equaliser came for the Iranian team from a penalty kick successfully executed by Jahanbakhsh in the 51st minute of the match, and Qatar scored the third goal in the 83rd minute through Almoez Ali.

The referee sent off Iran national team player Shoja Khalil after showing him a red card directly for obstructing Qatari striker Akram Afif in the 90+3 minute while he was alone in a one-on-one situation, so Iran completed the match with ten players, especially after the referee granted 13 minutes of extra time.

With this result, the team will face its Jordanian counterpart, which qualified for the final match, scheduled to start next Saturday at six o’clock in the evening.
