Speaking at the opening of the seminar held under the theme “South-South Cooperation: Stability and Economic Prosperity”, the Moroccan Ambassador to Bangkok, Abderrahim Rahhaly, emphasized the Atlantic Initiative of HM King Mohammed VI to promote the access of the Sahel States to the Atlantic Ocean.

“This innovative approach is in line with the various initiatives and actions, notably the Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline, that the Kingdom continues to undertake in favor of the development, stability and economic prosperity of the African continent, within the framework of active and united South-South cooperation,” noted Mr. Rahhaly.

In this sense, he stressed the “positive impact of this initiative on the potential of the Sahel region”, also reviewing all the efforts deployed by Morocco in favor of maintaining peace and security in the region.

For his part, Mohamed Harakat, professor at Mohammed V University in Rabat, focused, in a video conference intervention, on the economic diplomacy adopted by Morocco, which not only promoted the Kingdom’s breakthrough in diplomatic and economic matters, but also contributed to strengthening South-South cooperation.

The seminar was attended by researchers and academics from the Faculty of Communication and the Faculty of Economics and Management of Assumption University of Thailand.
