Registration for USAC Preparatory Academic Program courses for the second semester of 2024

He SUN Location and Leveling System has opened registrations for the courses of the Preparatory Academic Program ―PAP― of the second half of the yearWith these, students will be able to enter the University of San Carlos of Guatemala without the need to present the Basic Knowledge Testssince its approval is equivalent to obtaining a satisfactory result.

You can enroll in the subjects of Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, with a duration of six months. They are taught in the morning, afternoon and also on Saturdays. However, some courses are only available on a specific day.

Prices, days and registration requirements

The requirement to register in the courses of the Preparatory Academic Program is to have the result of the Vocational Guidance Test. The one-time payment to be made is Q350.00 for one or two subjects, and Q500.00 for three to five.

The available days are:

  • Morning: from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm
  • Vespertine-nocturnal: from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
  • Sabbath: from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm

It is important to note that Chemistry and Biology are not available in the evening-night session of the daily plan. In addition, weekday courses are taught for one hour a day, within the chosen session, whether morning or evening. Another detail to take into account is that the Saturday plan only allows enrollment in two subjects, which will last five hours each.

Classes are held in person and begin on July 15 for the daily plan and on July 20 for the Saturday plan.

Last date to register and procedure

Registration opened on July 1 and will end on July 14 at 3:30 p.m. Follow these steps to be assigned:

  1. creat your account: Log in to SUN Online and select the “Create Account” option. Enter your details and click on the “Log In” option.
  2. Sign up for courses: Go to the PAP menu and select the “Course Assignment” option. Choose the subjects you wish to take and click on “Generate Payment Slip.” It is important that you carefully review your personal information and selected subjects, as no changes or refunds will be made.
  3. Make the Payment: Make the corresponding payment at G&T Continental, Banrural or Bantrab.
  4. Confirm your registration: Once payment has been made, log back into SUN Online and select the “Course Assignment” option in the PAP menu. Select the time and click “Assign.” If everything is correct, the registration certificate will be displayed. Make sure to check that your details are correct, as well as the selected day and time, as no changes will be made.
  5. Assign yourself a building and a teacher: On the day classes start, go to the facilities of the Secondary Education Teacher Training School – EFPEM -, with entrance on Petapa Avenue, to be assigned a building and teacher.
