/ Former Iraqi national team player, Nashat Akram, confirmed on Wednesday that he does not want to work in the current Football Association system, while indicating that he is happy with a state of stability in his personal life.
Akram, in a statement to Agency, considered the desire of the Iraqi Football Association and his colleague Younis Mahmoud, the second vice president of the association, for him to be the administrative director of the national team, succeeding Mahdi Karim, as “a source of pride”, but he confirmed his rejection and unwillingness, due to “his commitments in his private work”.
He pointed out that he had previously confirmed his unwillingness to work in the Football Association, noting that his colleague Mahdi Karim, the national team’s director of administration, is “competent” and he hopes that the association will keep him in his position, especially since he has worked hard and diligently.”
The former international player added, “I do not advise the federation to change the administrative director, Mahdi Karim, and the media coordinator, Mohamed Emad, because they succeeded in their work during the previous period.”
The second vice president of the Iraqi Football Association, Younis Mahmoud, had previously nominated his colleague, Nashat Akram, to work as the administrative director of the national team during the next phase.
The Iraqi Football Association intends to make some changes in the ranks of the first team, most notably Mehdi Karim, the team’s administrative director, due to “some administrative errors during his work,” according to a source in the association who spoke to Agency.
