Vice President Iliyana Yotova welcomed 2 students from the predominantly ethnic Bulgarian Bolgrad region in Ukraine to Dondukov. The students are on a five-day educational and familiarization seminar in Bulgaria at the invitation of the Southwest University “Neofit Rilski”, together with the Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad. The visit is part of the university’s initiative to deepen contacts with representatives of the Bulgarian historical diasporas. The majority of students plan to continue their education in Bulgarian universities. Students from Moldova will also visit Bulgaria. This was announced by the press office of the presidency.

The Vice-President thanked the teachers for imparting to the children the knowledge of their ancestral home Bulgaria and teaching them in the Bulgarian language. “Thank you that in difficult conditions you manage to paint the world for our children in colors different from those of the war,” Yotova addressed the teachers. In front of the students, the vice president expressed support in the difficult time for their country. “I believe that reason will prevail and louder than weapons the voice of peace will be heard,” she stressed. “I visited you in 2019, I hope to see you again soon in peaceful and calm days,” Yotova said.
