During two days, The old Guatemala will shine differently with the Antigua Light Festivaland free event in which Guatemalans will be able to see how the facades of historic buildings are transformed with video mapping and some squares are illuminated. It will be a different spectacle to enjoy the colonial city at night, in the company of family and friends.

The event is designed so that visitors can take a night tour of the streets of the colonial city, visiting the parks illuminated with light installations, where they can take incredible photographs, and the historic buildings, where performances will be presented. non-stop video mapping showswith works by national and international artists. It is worth noting that the tours are not guided, you decide in which order to visit each place.

Video mapping is a technique that uses projectors to display images and animations on three-dimensional surfaces, such as buildings, monuments or structures. Instead of projecting onto a flat screen, video mapping adapts images to the shape and contours of the object, creating striking visual effects that appear to transform and bring surfaces to life.

The facades of iconic monuments in La Antigua Guatemala will be transformed with digital art Inspired by the 500 years of Santiago de Guatemala. There are 16 national and international artists who will be in charge of creating the animation pieces that will be projected continuously on the façade of the monuments. Some of them are Jeremy Oury and Patrick Grandi, from France; Felix Frank, from Germany; Adrian Manolescu, from Romania; Borjan and Emil from Australia, and Antonio Campollo and Francisco Sandoval from Guatemala.

The facades of the buildings that will be illuminated are:
