The implementation of NATO standards is foreseen in the government’s priority measures plan for 2024.

Within the framework of the package of objectives of the partnership between Ukraine and NATO, it is proposed for Ukraine to implement 218 alliance standards by 2025. By July 2024, Ukraine has already accepted 190, the ministry revealed.

First Deputy Minister of Defense Ivan Havrilyuk emphasized that Ukraine is doing its homework regarding compliance with NATO requirements. “At the same time, we are working on the implementation of joint mid-term and long-term projects,” he said. In addition, Ukraine has introduced another 134 standards on its own initiative, he added.

The Ministry of Defense revealed that the implemented NATO standards relate to the operation of weapons and military equipment, the security of ammunition and explosives storage, the command of troops, the use of communication and information systems, the quality of goods, engineering, aviation and medical provision.

“Ukraine is also starting to implement the NATO standards provided for in the list of initial NATO compliance requirements for Ukraine signed by the NATO Secretary General,” Havrilyuk said.
