Digi complaints about TV service
The news is reported by the newspaper ECO, which says that Digi has filed complaints with Comórtas, ANACOM and ERC because it understands that Media Capital is adopting “abusive behavior” in negotiations regarding access to channels.
According to published documents ERC, Digi says that “discriminatory commercial conditions are being imposed in relation to those imposed on its competitors already operating in the television program distribution market” and “unequal sales price”. Subsequently, Media Capital understands that “the conditions he proposed are completely reasonable”.
The ERC decided, therefore, to “encourage mechanisms capable of bringing operability” to the point of the Television Law which specifies that “distribution operators must have access, without prejudice to market uses in accordance with competition rules, to television programs which are transparent, reasonable and non-discriminatory conditions, with a view to their respective distribution”, in “community” with the Competition Authority.
Media Capital refuses to hand over channels to a “distributor who devalues them”.
Digi Communications entered our country after acquiring eight frequencies between 800 MHx and 3600MHz for 67 million euros in 2022. The company already has some employees in Portugal and the objective is to provide the best telecommunication services at the price lowest.
Digi is a a very competitive telecommunications operator as can be seen from the list of prices charged in Spain.
