This visit is part of initiatives aimed at informing representatives of foreign delegations of the virtuous dynamics of development in the southern provinces in general and the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region in particular.
This trip offers the members of the delegation, composed of nine diplomats from Rwanda, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Kenya, Tanzania, Somalia, Ghana, Malawi and Ethiopia, the opportunity to see first-hand the socio-economic development in the region and to learn about the broad outlines of the development model in the southern provinces of the Kingdom.
In a statement to the press, Ethiopian diplomat Hailu Demissie Kidanemariam noted that this visit allowed the delegation to learn more about the region’s potential and to inquire about investment opportunities and the advantages and facilities granted to investors and economic operators.
For his part, the Malawian diplomat, Malombera Andre Christiana, indicated that this trip was an opportunity to learn more about the various Royal construction sites in the region and the achievements made in various productive sectors.
Among these megaprojects, he continued, is the Dakhla Atlantique port, which will certainly contribute to highlighting this region as a gateway to the countries of the African continent.
African diplomats also followed a presentation by the Director of the Regional Investment Center, Mounir Houari, in which he detailed, with figures to support his argument, the remarkable development dynamics that the region is experiencing in different areas, the major infrastructure projects to connect the territory and unleash its potential, the investment opportunities in this region and the advantages and facilities granted to investors and economic operators, as well as the role and missions of the CRI.
Earlier in the day, the members of the delegation had meetings with the Wali of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, Governor of the Oued-Eddahab province, Ali Khalil, and the President of the Regional Council, El Khattat Yanja, during which the emphasis was placed on the development process in the region and investment opportunities.
It should be noted that African diplomats are participating, from April 15 to 26, in the international training cycle in diplomacy, a training provided by AMED, focusing on economic diplomacy, combining theoretical courses and practical workshops.
