jpnn.comJAKARTA – Member of the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU) August Mellaz asked the media not to link Hasyim Asyari’s family with the decision of the Indonesian Election Organizer Honorary Council (DKPP) which imposed a permanent dismissal sanction related to an immoral case.

“We appeal to our media friends, if possible, to limit Mr. Hasyim’s affairs with the DKPP decision to Mr. Hasyim. Don’t bring it to his family. This kind of situation is not right,” said Mellaz at the KPU RI Office, Jakarta, Friday (5/7).

He said that Hasyim Asyari’s family was not part of the case of violations of election organizer ethics.

However, the KPU found that there was a lot of news that dragged Hasyim Asyari’s family into this problem.

“You see, wives and children are not part of what should be the problem, but if we look at it, pay attention to the news, yes, of course we ask for generosity together,” he said.

Mellaz also explained that the Hasyim family has a private area that should not be disturbed.

“Enough, this is the position of the DKPP’s decision. Of course we must respect it, but the excuse from there, for example, exposing the family and all sorts, they have personal rights that we should not touch,” said Mellaz.

August Mellaz asked that the immoral case of KPU Chairman Hasyim Asyari who was fired by the DKPP not be linked to the family concerned.
