They applied en masse with matriculation exams, every tenth person who took the exam got a perfect six
7,122 candidate students have been admitted to Plovdiv University “Paisiy Hilendarski” on the first ranking, the university announced. 1,637 of them appeared for the competitive exams, the rest applied with the matriculation grades.
In the year the total number of those accepted in the first round was 4754 people, recalled Associate Professor Boryan Yanev, Deputy Rector.
The highest minimum score this year is recorded in the specialty “Law” (women) in regular form – 34.60 with a maximum of 36.00, as well as in “Software Engineering” – 34.40.
The total number of honors from the regular exam session was 275, of which 160 were full sixes. The most 6.00 marks were obtained in English – 47, and the total number of excellent marks in the subject was 84.
362 and 353 candidates received “Very good” and “Good” ratings, respectively. There are 265 candidates with an average score. 382 people received a “Weak” rating, added the vice-rector, Assoc. Dr. Boryan Yanev.
The “Acting for Drama Theater” exam has not yet been held. As we reported a few days ago, a 66-year-old student candidate is applying for it.
According to the tradition of “Paisiy Hilendarski” PU, it is held in the month of September in three competition rounds on three consecutive days. This year, the dates set are September 11, 12 and 13.
Enrollment of those accepted after the first ranking will continue from July 9 to 12 inclusive. The university states that students accepted for their first desired major must enroll within the specified time frame, otherwise they lose the right to participate in the next ranking. A second ranking will be announced on July 15.
