jpnn.comJAKARTA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Public Prosecutor alluded to the statement of the legal advisor of former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) regarding the flow of funds from the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) to a greenhouse owned by one of the party leaders. The prosecutor considered it to be a bluff.
According to KPK Prosecutor Meyer Simanjuntak, in the defense notes or pleas of SYL and the legal advisor, it was not conveyed at all that there was a flow of money to the greenhouse in the Seribu Islands as previously stated.
“The statement is nothing more than bluff and empty promises that are usually conveyed in traditional markets,” said Meyer during the hearing to read out the public prosecutor’s response to the defendant’s defense (reply) at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Monday (8/7).
Thus, he believes that this is not in line with the statements of the legal advisor and SYL in the trial and mass media who will clearly reveal all the flows of corruption money from the Ministry of Agriculture, including those suspected of flowing to certain party leaders, in the steps to achieve justice.
As if licking his own spit, Meyer said that in his defense note SYL actually thanked, praised, and even prayed for the party leader in question.
“This is a bit different, but that’s the fact,” he said.
Meanwhile, in the reading of his personal plea at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Friday (5/7), SYL had time to thank the General Chair of the National Democrat Party (NasDem) Surya Paloh for his political trust and friendship that had been well established.
Paloh with his role, he said, continued to consistently give instructions in developing national commitment and gave SYL the opportunity to occupy the position of minister of agriculture so that he would have the opportunity to serve Nusa and the nation.
According to KPK Prosecutor Meyer Simanjuntak, in the defense notes or pleas of SYL and the legal advisor, there was no mention at all of the flow of greenhouse money.
