Transportation of trans-Caspian resources will contribute to Europe’s energy security.
As reported on Saturday by Day.Az with reference to Trend, this was stated today by Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz during an informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG) in the city of Shusha.
“In the energy sector, the role of the Turkic states, which are rich in resources and have an important geographical location, is of decisive importance. Together, we are successfully implementing large-scale energy and transport infrastructure projects connecting the East and the West. The projects we have implemented in this area with Azerbaijan are exemplary. The transportation of trans-Caspian resources, especially Turkmen natural gas, to Turkey and Europe will contribute to both our national well-being and the energy security of Europe,” he said.
Yılmaz expressed satisfaction with the creation of an energy mechanism within the amalgamated territorial communities.
“In this context, we support the development of joint projects. We are ready to share experience, especially in renewable energy sources, energy efficiency and market regulation,” he said.
