An assessment of the performance of the national men’s team in the League of Nations and the work of the new coach Gianlorenzo Blengini was made by David Davidov – vice president of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation. Here’s what he shared:
“On behalf of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation, I would like to express our satisfaction with the way Gianlorenzo Blengini started his work in Bulgaria. We are optimistic about what lies ahead for our national team.
The optimism is based on what we have seen, the way he has started in preparation, the face-to-face he has shown in some of the games and other qualities.
In general, we are very satisfied with the decision for Blendjini to lead the Bulgarian national team. What is impressive, apart from the valuable energy he has brought to the team, is his long-term view and willingness to make a comprehensive assessment of the state of our potential over the next few years.
We are aiming for a result that will take us to the big goal, which is Los Angeles 2028. Blengini has done a deep enough analysis, and continues now, of the competitors who can take us there.
That was our arrangement and he carries it out very carefully with a great focus on the young men who may become men in the next few years. Our evaluation since the beginning of his work has been extremely positive.”
