The other day, there was a meeting of representatives of the authorities and 25 political parties in Baku. The meeting was held for the purpose of “establishing and developing constructive cooperation”.
Representatives of the Presidential Administration, Milli Majlis, Central Election Commission, Accounts Chamber, Ministry of Justice and Finance participated in the meeting.
Of the state-registered political parties, only the representative of the Azerbaijan Popular Front Party was not among the participants of the meeting.
Adalat Valiyev, Head of the Department of Relations with Political Parties and Legislative Powers of the Presidential Administration, said that constructive cooperation, healthy political dialogue and an environment of solidarity in national issues are continuously promoted in the country between various political forces.
Then the representatives of various state bodies gave speeches and gave information about the work done by the bodies they represent in relation to the issues arising from the new law “On Political Parties”.
The representative of the Ministry of Justice talked about keeping a register of political party members, using a personal cabinet for work with political parties, and responsibility for violating the legislation.
The representative of the Ministry of Finance talked about the accounting of political parties and the allocation of state financial assistance to political parties.
The representative of the Central Election Commission gave information about the financial report of political parties and the acceptance of donations by political parties.
The representative of the Accounting Chamber drew attention to issues such as checking the expenditure of financial assistance allocated from the state budget to political parties.
Then the representatives of the parties spoke and expressed their attitudes to the discussed topics. The names of the parties participating in the meeting are listed in the official information. However, the Azerbaijan People’s Front Party was not on the list.
In response to Turan’s question about the reasons for the party’s non-participation in the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Seymur Hazi said that his organization was not invited. However, even if invited, the party would not participate in the discussions.
“The Azerbaijan People’s Front Party can participate in the dialogue only in this case. Negotiations should be conducted by competent persons, open to the public and around the problem defined in advance with the participation of the parties. The society should be aware of the process in all steps,” Hazi said.
