Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) decided to extend the contract with Pakistan’s legendary spin coach Mushtaq Ahmed in the board meeting after the World Cup. Meanwhile, Moshtaq’s work with England until December came to the fore.

Chief executive officer Nizam Uddin Chowdhury Sujan said that they are thinking about long term plans, besides that they will join even if they can find time while they have a contract with England.
BCB chief executive said, ‘At the moment I cannot say specifically. However, we asked for a specific date from the contact of Mushtaq Ahmed. It was not possible for him then. Because he had already made some agreements.’
‘You see the contract he has with the England Cricket Board and so on. Then we signed him till then keeping only T20 World Cup in mind. He was spoken to today too’ – added Nizam Uddin.
Asked whether Mushtaq will be in the series against Pakistan, Nizam Uddin replied, ‘He has some previous contracts till December. Apart from this, the time he can give to Bangladesh, he will give to Bangladesh. We are talking about a long-term contract with him.’
BCB continues to negotiate with Moshtaq. He has been sent the schedule of all the series in Bangladesh, ‘We have sent the schedule of our upcoming series. He sees that. He will tell as soon as possible.’
BCB signed a contract with Moshtaq until the T20 World Cup last April. As Rishad Hossain did well under him, the board was interested in extending the contract.
