Boseong-gun’s follow-up project for the ‘1 Department-1 Tea Garden Sisterhood’ is spreading as a virtuous cycle culture. Boseong-gun announced that the follow-up project for the ‘1 Department-1 Tea Garden Sisterhood’ signed between 21 Boseong-gun departments and 16 tea garden experience centers in February is spreading as a virtuous cycle cultural movement for the county residents.
The ‘1 Department-1 Tea Garden Sisterhood’ agreement was signed with the aim of promoting Boseong tea, which is managed as the first Geographical Indication of Agricultural Products and the 11th Important National Agricultural Heritage, through public-private cooperation and creating a tea culture worthy of ‘Boseong, the Green Tea Capital’ by selecting a tea experience center designated by the county as a mutually beneficial tea garden and having administrative agencies and local tea gardens participate.
The performance in the first half of this year was △14 million won in purchases of Sangsaeng Dawon products, △60 instances of social networking service (SNS) promotion and press releases, and △18 instances of helping farmers in the agreement department, actively responding to the labor shortage problem due to the aging population and creating an atmosphere for promoting Boseong tea, taking the lead in stabilizing the management of tea farms.
In the second half of the year, Sangsaeng Dawon plans to support local residents at social welfare facilities in the district by providing tea sharing, tea making, and cultural experience events, thereby creating a beautiful virtuous cycle culture of mutual growth and sharing in which residents work together and enjoy together.
Seondaewon CEO Seo Sang-gyun, who was selected as a Sangsaeng tea farm, said, “The administration first looked into the difficulties of tea farmers and helped them when they were tired and struggling, which allowed them to run again.” He added, “We will also create an atmosphere in which local residents practice sharing and take the lead in Boseong-gun’s key policy of Culture 600, overflowing with dreams and happiness.”
Meanwhile, Boseong-gun will hold the ‘2024 National Important Agricultural and Fishery Heritage Festival with the 12th Boseong World Tea Expo’ from September 6 to September 8. This festival will feature the participation of Sangsaeng Experience Tea Gardens to promote the excellence and value of agricultural and fishery heritage, and will operate programs that can be enjoyed by both local residents and tourists visiting the festival.
