The DOPAR Directorate of the Municipality of Rhodes presents on Wednesday 17 July 2024 at 21:30 the popular virtuoso saxophonist Giorgos Katsaros at the emblematic venue of the Grand Master’s Palace.
His name is identified with the saxophone. He is the one who in Greece taught us to love his sounds and recognize his timbre. Giorgos Katsaros will take us on a journey with their musical creations and not only on a journey of the senses. He is the composer who managed to collaborate with all the great performers of his time such as Marinella, Vanou, Parios, Voskopoulos, Poulopoulos, Vogiatzis, Hatzis etc.
In addition to the great recording successes he achieved with all of them, his songs about Greek cinema were particularly successful, mainly performed by Rena Vlachopoulou. He was conductor for many years in the music ensembles of ERT, founder of the Athens Municipality orchestra and exuding a restless spirit, he was the one who introduced the institution of the music school in Greece 30 years ago and in fact one of the first to operate was the Music School Rose!
For this reason, the choir of the Music School of Rhodes as well as the Mixed Choir of the Municipality of Rhodes under the direction of Michalis Kalaentzis will collaborate with him in the performance in a historical coexistence with deeper symbolism. Giorgos Katsaros will have his musicians by his side and as performers 2 amazing voices who have left their mark on the scene for many years now, Spyros Kleissa and Christina Ralli, in an evening where the spectators will enjoy a performance of a very high standard.
