Argentina has announced its intention to join NATO, provide weapons to Ukraine, and help Israel fight Iran.
The specific types and volumes of weapons have not yet been specified. Argentine Defense Minister Luis Alfonso Petri noted that the country had previously cooperated with Venezuela, Cuba and Iran, but now supports other countries.
“In the past, Argentina exchanged hugs with Venezuela, Cuba and Iran, and now we do it with countries that are fighting for their survival. We cannot remain neutral in this situation. We must be on the side of countries that defend their freedom and democracy,” he said.
The official said Argentina plans to join NATO, buy F-16 fighter jets and help Ukraine in its war with Russia and Israel in its conflict with Iran and its allies.
Argentine President Javier Miley confirmed:
“The wind of change that started in Argentina is spreading throughout the world and will reach every corner where freedom is suppressed. This is just the beginning. Long live freedom, damn it!”
The defense minister also said Argentina intends to participate in the peace summit in Kyiv. It is assumed that this will be the second peace summit, which could take place in Saudi Arabia in September. Kyiv, in turn, said that it is considering several countries as a venue for this summit.
