The Human Mobility Law establishes some legal figures for the revocation of the Ecuadorian visa for foreigners.

Visa revocation, as an administrative sanction, extinguishes the immigration status that authorizes a foreigner to remain in the country.
This is used in these cases:
1. Has obtained a final judgment for crimes punishable by imprisonment of more than five years, in accordance with the provisions on the expulsion of foreigners determined by the Criminal Law.
2. Has obtained immigration status fraudulently, duly proven, in which case he/she will be placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority. According to the international instruments ratified by Ecuador, exceptions are established in favor of victims of human trafficking or illicit migrant smuggling.
3. A resident who leaves the country on two occasions exceeding the periods authorized by this Law.
4. Has committed acts that threaten the security of the State, duly determined by the competent authority.
According to the notification from Vice Minister Dávalos, the Government of Ecuador applied numeral 4 of the revocation of the Ecuadorian visa in the case of Alondra Santiago.
