In Azerbaijan, the “Procedure for organizing and conducting a qualification examination for granting the right to operate railway transport” has been approved.
As reported by Day.Az on Thursday, the corresponding decision was signed by Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov.
According to the decision, the organization and conduct of the qualification exam is carried out by the Closed Joint-Stock Company “Azerbaijan Railways” (hereinafter referred to as the body organizing the exam).
The qualification examination is conducted in relation to railway vehicles defined by the following categories (hereinafter referred to as categories).
“Eq” – Electric trains; “Dz” – Diesel trains; “E” – Electric locomotive; “T” – Diesel locomotive; “Lm” – Locomotive; “M/Dr/MK” – motor locomotive/handcar/machine complex.
The general requirements for persons wishing to obtain the right to operate railway transport are as follows:
1. Be at least 20 years old;
2. Full legal capacity established by law;
3. Be in good health condition to operate railway transport;
4. Possession of the necessary knowledge about the technical operation of railway transport, traffic safety on this type of transport, signs and communications, legal acts regulating the movement of trains and shunting operations;
5. Possession of practical skills in railway transport management;
6. Compliance with other requirements established by this rule.
