Hamas has dismissed as false reports that it would agree to a hostage deal with Israel that would not ensure a “comprehensive ceasefire.”

As reported by Day.Az, this was reported by the Al Arabiya TV channel with reference to this Palestinian movement.

The group added that another fundamental requirement for such an agreement is “a complete withdrawal of troops from the Gaza Strip.”

Hamas said in a statement commenting on the talks scheduled for Wednesday in Doha that Israel only wants to discuss the release of hostages, while the group “wants comprehensive negotiations.”

In Israel, however, they continue to insist that they do not intend to stop military operations in the Gaza Strip until they achieve all their goals, including the complete destruction of Hamas as the military and governing body of the enclave.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas launched an attack on Israel. In response, Israel launched a military operation against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Israeli forces are returning to some locations in the enclave to clear them of the enemy again, including Gaza City, where Palestinian militants were able to regroup.
