jpnn.com – JAKARTA – Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian said that the higher the voter participation, the stronger the legitimacy of the 2024 Pilkada results.
Therefore, he considered increasing voter participation in the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections very important.
Tito conveyed this at the Coordination Meeting for the Implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections in the Sumatra Region which was monitored online from Jakarta, Tuesday (9/7).
He encouraged local governments (Pemda) to play a role in increasing voter participation.
Tito said that his party had submitted the Potential Voter List (DP4) data to the General Election Commission (KPU).
One of the data concerns the number of people aged 17 years when the regional elections are held on November 27, 2024.
“So this data will be different from the February 14 Election, because between February 14 and November 27 there were those aged 17 years, who had the right to vote, and secondly they were not members of the TNI/Polri,” said Tito.
In addition, the data will then be validated by the KPU and its staff.
