/ The Iraqi Football Association announced, on Monday, the closure of winter transfers for players who will represent club teams in the Iraqi Premier League for the 2023-2024 season.

Football Association member Firas Bahr Al-Ulum told Agency that the date for winter transfers and contracts for the Iraqi Professional League clubs began on the 5th of last month, indicating that the association has authorized any club wishing to contract with players to do so starting from the date that was set and according to the controls.

He pointed out that the Football Association has set a full month during which winter transfers will be allowed, indicating that the transfer window will close after 12 noon today, Monday (February 5).

He added that the player who was officially contracted with was supported by the federation, whether he was local or professional, explaining that after completing the legal procedures, the player has the right to represent his new club in a proper manner.

It is noteworthy that the Football Association allowed the Iraqi Stars Clubs to register 4 foreign professional players under the international classification of national teams from the sequence 90 and below, and two players from the sequence 91 and above, while the Yemeni player was considered a local player who is not included in the list of professional players.
