The telecom world is dominated by two telecom companies, Reliance Jio and Airtel. However, to compete with Jio and Airtel, the government has made a big plan under which BSNL will be made stronger than before. For this, the independently working government telecom company MTNL can be merged with BSNL.
MTNL will not work independently
Actually MTNL was continuously incurring losses. The government has to pay MTNL’s debt of Rs 30,000 crore. After this payment, the entire management of MTNL will be handed over to Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL). If the report is to be believed, there is no plan to close MTNL company at present, but the company will not work independently.
What will happen to the employees?
Now the question arises that what will happen to the employees of MTNL? Let us tell you that about 3000 employees are working there. Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) can be offered to all these employees. Or they will be transferred to BSNL.

According to the report, people will get better services with the merger of MTNL with BSNL. Also, the infrastructure of BSNL will be stronger than before. Let us tell you that at present MTNL offers its services in Delhi and Mumbai, while BSNL provides its services in the rest of the country.
Jio and Airtel will compete
Both BSNL and MTNL are lagging behind private telecom services. After the rollout of 4G and 5G networks in the country, a clear difference can be seen between private and government telecom services. But now the government is planning to present BSNL as a strong option against private companies like Jio and Airtel with better management and financial supervision.
BSNL customers expected to increase
After the increase in recharges of Jio and Airtel, users are turning towards BSNL. In such a time, if attention is paid to BSNL, better results can be achieved. BSNL, which is continuously losing its customers, can increase.
Market share slipping
At the end of April this year, BSNL’s market share was 7.46%. During the same period, MTNL’s market share was 0.16 percent. Reliance Jio’s share was 40.4 percent and Bharti Airtel’s was 33.12 percent, while Vodafone Idea’s market share was 18.77 percent.
