France, under various pretexts, is trying to interfere in regional dynamics, turning the South Caucasus into an arena of conflicts and the application of its own shameful neocolonial practices.

As reported by Day.Az on Thursday, this was stated by the Chairperson of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova during her speech at the plenary session of the 10th BRICS Parliamentary Forum on July 11.

According to her, the tough and decisive position demonstrated by Azerbaijan prevents any such attempt.

“After restoring its territorial integrity and sovereignty, Azerbaijan began large-scale restoration and reconstruction work in the territories liberated from occupation. Former internally displaced persons are already returning to the homeland of their ancestors. Thus, Azerbaijan not only independently ensured the implementation of the norms and principles of international law, but also restored the justice that our people had been seeking for almost 30 years,” she noted.

The speaker said that Azerbaijan and Armenia are currently continuing the normalization process, which will bring long-term peace and stability to the South Caucasus region.

S. Gafarova also noted that as the possibility of establishing peace increases, double standards and attempts to interfere in the process are once again being recorded.
